President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia attends the meeting on publicizing court acts and legislative regulatory issues for personal data protection

On July 15 and 16, 2021 the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Merab Turava and Head of the Department of Legal Provision and Research Irakli Ksovreli participated in the working meeting, organized by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) and The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

The meeting was dedicated to the legislative measure to be taken for execution of the decision N1/4/693,857 adopted by the Constitutional Court of Georgia on June 7, 2019, in particular the proposals developed by the Legal Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia upon which relevant regulative amendments are to be based were discussed. Meeting was in Borjomi.

Members of the Legal Issues Committee and Apparatus of the Parliament of Georgia, as well as the Judges of the Supreme Court of Georgia, the representatives of the State Inspector's Service of Georgia, European Union, Council of Europe and Non-Governmental Organizations took part in the event.

By the Decision of the Constitutional Court of Georgia of June 7, 2019 a normative content of the General Administrative Code and disputable regulation of Georgian Law upon Personal Data Protection, excluding issuing full texts of the Court Acts adopted as the result of court proceedings in the form of public information was announced as unconstitutional.
