President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia met with the Judge of the U.S Court of Appeals

On 21 July 2007 the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Justice George Papuashvili met with the judge of the U. S. Court of Appeals John Walker. The meeting was held in Batumi in the new residence of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.

Justice George Papuashvili introduced Justice John Walker with the structure and functions of the Constitutional Court of Georgia. The President of the Court discussed the reforms undertaken in 2006 in the Georgian Court system and about the activities planned in the near future.

Born 1940 in New York, NY, Judge Walker has been a Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals since his appointment by President Bush in 1989. He assumed senior status on 30 September 2006. Judge Walker holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School
