PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF GEORGIA DELIVERS A SPEECH AT THE CULTURAL DIPLOMACY EVENT IN BERLIN

President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Zaza Tavadze is visiting Berlin to participate in the high-level Forum dedicated the 30th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The event is organized by the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy

The President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia delivered a speech before the participants of the forum and focused attention to the epochal changes taking place in the Central and Eastern European countries during 1990s, being inspired by the developments occurring in Berlin 30 years ago. In his speech, Mr. Zaza Tavadze noted that existence of an effective constitutional control plays a significant role in strengthening the democratic transformation in the region. From this viewpoint, Mr. Zaza Tavadze talked about the role of the Constitutional Court of Georgia in the consolidation of the rule of law in Georgia. As highlighted in his address, the fall of the Berlin Wall for Georgia served as a symbol for the fact that artificial barriers are temporary and occupation of our country will have an ending. 

Highest officials from various countries and International Organizations are participating in the Forum. Visit of the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia will be completed on November 8.
