Visit of the Delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Today, on September 9, within the framework of an official visit, the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Revaz Nadaraia, hosted a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Constitutional Court. The delegation was comprised of the President of the Constitutional Court Mr. Farhad Abdullayev; Judge Rashid Rzayev and Secretary-General of the Court Mr. Anar Babayev.
A working meeting with the members of the delegation was held on the topic: “Dialogue and Regional Cooperation among Constitutional Courts for Strengthening the Rule of Law.” Within the framework of the dialogue, thematic presentations were delivered by both the Judges of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and the visiting delegation. The participants discussed the issues related to the effective functioning of constitutional review systems in two countries and the importance of cooperation at the regional level. Particular attention was paid to the need to safeguard the supremacy of the Constitution and to the role of constitutional courts in ensuring the effective exercise of the constitutional review.
The parties agreed to strengthen bilateral dialogue and further develop a longstanding friendship between the Constitutional Courts of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia thanked his Azerbaijani counterpart for the visit and expressed his readiness to further deepen the partnership between two institutions.
