Visit of the Delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia
On October 19-20, 2023, the Delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia with the composition of President of the Constitutional Court Mr. Arman Dilanyan, along with justices and staff members of the apparatus paid an official visit to the Constitutional Court of Georgia. The aim of the visit was to deepen bilateral cooperation and share experiences.
The justices of the Constitutional Court of Georgia held a working meeting with the members of the Delegation. The issues of systemic functioning of the constitutional control of two countries, as well as practical issues of legal proceedings, including the procedure for lodging a constitutional submission and an institutional dialogue between Constitutional and Common Courts, as well as an overview of recent landmark case law of the constitutional courts were discussed at the meeting.
In the frame of the visit, the chairperson of the Supreme Council of Ajara Autonomous Republic Mr. Davit Gabaidze had a meeting with the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, during which the parties noted the existence of close cooperation between Georgian and the Republic of Armenia in various fields.
President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Merab Turava thanked the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia for the visit. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on strengthening bilateral dialogue and holding future working meetings.
