Irine Imerlishvili

Former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Georgia

Born on January 29, 1971 in Tbilisi.

Studied at Tbilisi Experimental School #1;

Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

In 1993-2000 - the Georgian Parliament Staff in various positions: (Head of the Department for Preparation and Provision of Meetings; Head of the Hall Service of the Organizational Department; Head of the Organizational Department; Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Staff for Legislative Activities.

In 1994-1995 - Member of the Central Election Commission of Georgia.

In 2000 - 2003: Deputy Minister of Justice at the Ministry of Justice, Head of the Expertise Bureau of the Ministry of Justice. Was the Chairman of the Competition and Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Justice.

In 2003, by the Presidential Decree, he was awarded the special state title - State Counselor of Justice.

In 2012 - 2013: Member of the 8th convocation of the Parliament of Georgia,

Chairman of the Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules; Legal Member of the Issues Committee and the Defense and Security Committee. Member of the Council of Treasurers, the advisory body of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Member of the Competition and Attestation Commission of the Parliament. Member of the Georgian Dream faction and the majority. Author and initiator of 36 draft laws.

In 2012-2013: “On Amendments to the Constitution of Georgia” Draft Constitutional Law of Georgia (№07-3/106, 13.06.2013), “On Amendments and Addenda to the Constitution of Georgia” Draft Constitutional Law of Georgia (№07-3/107, 13.06.2013) and “On Amendments to the Constitution of Georgia” Draft Constitutional Law of Georgia Member of the Organizing Commission for the Publication of the Draft Constitutional Law of Georgia (№07-3/108, 13.06.2013) and Their General Public Discussion.

2012-2013: Member of the Inter-Faction Group Working on Election Issues of the Parliament of Georgia.

2013-2017: Doctoral Candidate at the Georgian-American University GAU (School of Law).

2013-2016: Assistant to the President of Georgia in the National Security Council of Georgia, on National Security Issues, Secretary of the Security Council.

On September 12, 2016, by Decree No. 230 of the President of Georgia, he was appointed a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, and began exercising his powers as a judge on October 2 of the same year, after taking the oath. Since the date of conclusion.

In 2019, he was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Law.

He is a visiting lecturer at the Caucasus School of Law and the International Black Sea University, where he teaches juvenile justice and constitutional law.
