Participation in the Forum of the Superior Courts Network (SCN)

On June 6-7, 2024, Head of the Secretariat of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, Mr. George Lomtadze, participated in the Forum of the Superior Court Network (SCN), held at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The event was attended by judges and staff of the European Court of Human Rights and representatives of the national superior courts.

The event was opened by the President of the European Court of Human Rights. The substantive part of the Forum focused on "National courts and challenge of climate change litigation". Reports were presented by a judge of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, along with representatives from the Council of State of the French Republic, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. The practical segment of the forum included an interactive discussion on public relations and communication issues among member courts.

The Superior Courts Network (SCN) was established in 2015 to enrich dialogue between the European Court and national judicial systems. Within the framework of the forum, member courts exchange information on issues of the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as national legislation and judicial practice.
