Oath-Taking Ceremony of Mr. Vasil Roinishvili
Today, an oath-taking ceremony of a newly-appointed Judge Mr. Vasil Roinishvili was held at the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
According to the Article 9 of the Organic Law of Georgia on the Constitutional Court of Georgia the term of office of a member of the Constitutional Court shall commence from the date of his/her oath-taking.
The event was attended by the President of Georgia, Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Members of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and Former President Mr. Zaza Tavadze, as well as the Chairmen of the Government and Supreme Council of Ajara Autonomous Republic.
During 2009 – 2020 Mr. Vasil Roinishvili was the judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia. He has a multi-year experience of working in the legal field. At various times, he occupied the leading positions at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia. On May 29, 2020 Mr. Vasil Roinishvili was appointed as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia by the Plenum of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
At the event, acting President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Teimuraz Tughushi in his speech congratulated Mr. Vasil Roinishvili on his appointment as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and wished success in his professional activity. At the same time, Mr. Teimuraz Tughushi summarized a 10-year activity of the former president Mr. Zaza Tavadze and thanked him for his contribution in the process of increasing efficiency and institutional strengthening of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
