Avtandil Abashidze

Former Judge of the Constitutional Court of Georgia

Born on August 1, 1959 in the village of Chikhareshi, Lentekhi District.

In 1957 He graduated from Chikhareshi Secondary School .

In 1980-86, he studied at the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, after which, in 1987-95, he worked as an investigator at the Kaspi District Prosecutor's Office; Then – as an assistant prosecutor of the same district; as an assistant prosecutor of the Bolnisi district; as an investigator of particularly important cases of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Georgia; as a prosecutor of the Adigeni district.

On November 5, 1995, he was elected as a member of the Parliament of Georgia.

On June 25, 1996, the Parliament of Georgia elected him as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.

On June 18, 1999, by Decree N755 of the President of Georgia, he was awarded the class rank of judge of the highest qualification class.

On June 13, 2003, his authority as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia was terminated.

He has a wife and three children.
