Gia Meparishvili
Former Vice president of the Constitutional Court of GeorgiaBorn on June 7, 1959 in Baghdad.
In 1983, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
In 1984-87, he completed master's courses at the Institute of State and Law in the Soviet Union (Moscow) and defended his thesis after graduation.
Since 1988, he has worked as a junior research fellow at the Institute of Economics and Law of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Later, he worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Justice and Prosecutorial Supervision of the Faculty of Law of Tbilisi State University.
He is the author of 27 scientific papers on the problems of criminal justice process and the organization of legal proceedings.
He was a member of the Constitutional Commission of Georgia, Chairman of the Governmental Commission on the Reform of Law Enforcement Structures at the Ministry of Justice.
He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
On June 7, 1996, he was appointed a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia by the Supreme Court of Georgia.
On August 15, 1996, he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court and Chairman of the Second Collegium of the Constitutional Court.
On September 22, 1999, his term as a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia was terminated.
He has a wife and one child.
