Oath-taking ceremony of Giorgi Tevdorashvili
Today, an oath-taking ceremony of a newly-appointed Judge Mr. Giorgi Tevdorashvili was held at the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
According to the Article 9 of the Organic Law of Georgia on the Constitutional Court of Georgia the term of office of a member of the Constitutional Court shall commence from the date of his/her oath-taking.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Mr. Kakahber Kuchava, Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Judges of the Constitutional Court of Georgia as well the Chairmen of the Government and Supreme Council of Ajara Autonomous Republic.
The event was opened by the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Merab Turava with an opening speech. He wished a new member of the Court successful and productive activity in the following ten years. The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia also addressed the guests with speeches.
Mr. Giorgi Tevdorashvili was appointed the member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia with the Decree N 2287 issued by the President of Georgia on July 13, 2021. He has a multi-year experience in the direction of academic and professional activity. Before appointment as a Judge, during 2012-2021 he was the Deputy Head of Financial Monitoring Service of Georgia. Since 2003 he has been engaged in scientific-pedagogical activity at the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, having a Ph.D. in Law, being an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law and a member of the Dissertation Board. He is an author of up to 20 Scientific Papers on the topics of Constitutional Law. He is reviewer of a number of Scientific Papers, Monograph and a co-author of the books
