Olympiad “Young Lawyers for Constitutional Rights” completed at the Constitutional Court of Georgia

Today, an Olympiad “Young Lawyers for the Constitutional Rights” was completed at the Constitutional Court of Georgia, that was held for the fifteenth time. The event was opened by the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Mr. Merab Turava. He congratulated the participants on a successful completion of the project and wished future lawyers to reach a new achievements in their professional activity. The Chairperson of Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association Nika Simonishvili also addressed the students.

Participants of the Olympiad were second, third and fourth year students of Bachelor program from the Law Faculties of Ivane Javakhishvli Tbilisi State University, Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University, Tbilisi Free University and University of Georgia.

A three-day moot court sessions were held during the Olympiad being led by the Jury/Court Chamber comprised of the member of the Constitutional Court Teimuraz Tugushi, Head of the Constitutional Justice Team at GYLA Giorgi Gotsiridze and a Lawyer of Constitutional Justice Team at GYLA Vasil Zhizhiashvili.

At the end of Olympiad the following successful participants were selected: best team – Eldar Javakhidze, Mzekala Romanadze (Tbilisi Free University), the best claimant -Eldar Javakhidze (Tbilisi Free University; the best respondent and selectee of the Constitutional Court – Nitsa Siradze (Tbilisi Free University); Prize-Winners of the GYLA Foundation for the Support of Legal Education – Luka Gogava (Tbilisi Free University) and Liliko Gvramaia (Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State Unievrsity).

The event was organized by GYLA Foundation for the Support of Legal Education in cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Georgia and with the financial support of the IRZ Foundation.
