Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand

On April 9-13, at the invitation of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Georgia headed by the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Prof. Dr. Merab Turava participated in the official events dedicated to the 26th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand.

 

During the visit, the delegation of the Constitutional Court delivered a presentation at a high-level academic conference, introducing the systemic characteristics of the Georgian model of constitutional review and the court's precedent case law to the audience. Additionally, members of the delegation conducted a public lecture and academic discussion for students and faculty members of the Law Faculty at the National Institute of Development Administration and Thammasat University. Furthermore, a working meeting was held with the Justices of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand to exchange information about the court's case law and experiences.

 

The Delegation of the Constitutional Court of Georgia was comprised of the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Prof. Dr.  Merab Turava, Vice President Manana Kobakhidze, Head of the Department of Legal Provision and Research Mr. Irakli Ksovreli and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Associate Professor Giorgi Dgebuadze.

 

The visit took place within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Constitutional Courts of Georgia and the Kingdom of Thailand.
